Which models this covers
Saloons, T-Modell estates, coupés, cabriolets and the V-Class are all represented, across the broadest generation coverage of any make in this catalogue. The deeper model pages are E-Class, C-Class, A-Class and Vito. Parts are matched to a chassis code and build-month range, so two cars sharing a model name rarely share a listing.
Choosing between the ranges
Bilstein B4 is the OE-comparable replacement and by far the largest group here: standard height, original springs, factory ride restored. Bilstein B6 is firmer at that same height and suits a heavy saloon or estate that has gone floaty on worn damping. Tein EnduraPro is the alternative to B6, with EnduraPro Plus adding 16 levels of adjustment. Bilstein B8 is a shortened damper and belongs only on a car already lowered by roughly 30–40 mm — at standard height it ruins the ride. To lower a standard car, Bilstein B12 pairs dampers and springs as a matched kit and Tein S.Tech springs drop it on healthy original dampers. B14, B16, Street Advance Z and Flex Z give adjustable height.
What to check before ordering
Front and rear are separate parts and should be replaced in axle pairs. Renew strut support bearings and protection kits alongside them, and align the car afterwards. The Mercedes-specific caveat is the suspension option fitted at build: Airmatic and adaptive-damping cars take entirely different components from passive cars, and 4MATIC and estate variants differ again. Confirm generation, body and suspension type together.
Common questions for this make
How do I know if my car has Airmatic? Air-sprung cars sit on air springs rather than coils and usually offer a ride-height control. They need air suspension modules, not passive struts.
Do estates use different rear parts? Frequently yes — T-Modell rear setups differ from the saloon, and self-levelling cars differ again.
Is B6 too firm for a comfortable car? It is firmer than standard by design. If you want the original ride back, choose B4.
