Choosing between the ranges

Bilstein B4 is the largest group and the OE-comparable replacement — standard ride height, original springs retained, factory ride restored. It is the right answer for most Opels, which are bought and kept as ordinary transport. Bilstein B6 is firmer at the same height for drivers who want more body control, particularly on the Insignia where the standard setup is soft. Bilstein B12 is well represented and pairs shortened dampers with matched lowering springs as a single kit. Bilstein B8 is a shortened damper that belongs only on a car already lowered by roughly 30–40 mm — fitted at standard height it will ride badly and wear quickly. Bilstein B14 coilovers allow ride height to be set directly. No Tein ranges are stocked for Opel.

What to check before ordering

Front and rear are separate listings and should be fitted in axle pairs, then aligned. Strut support bearings and protection kits make up a substantial share of this page and are worth renewing whenever a damper is replaced.
