Which variants this covers
Four generations are listed — BA0/1, BM0/1, BZ0/1 and B9A — across hatchbacks, the Grandtour estate, the coupé and the CC convertible, all front-wheel drive. RS models run their own springs and damping and should not be matched from a standard listing. Estate and convertible rear setups differ from the hatchback. For other Renaults see Renault suspension.
Choosing between the ranges
Bilstein B6 is the largest group here, firmer than standard at the original ride height — a sensible choice for a Mégane driven harder than average, or an RS whose damping has softened. Bilstein B4 is the OE-comparable replacement that restores the factory ride. Bilstein B12 is well stocked and pairs shortened dampers with matched lowering springs as one package, and Eibach Pro-Kit springs give a moderate drop on healthy original dampers. Bilstein B8 is a shortened damper only for a car already lowered by roughly 30–40 mm — the wrong part at standard height. Bilstein B14 coilovers let you set the height yourself. No Tein ranges are stocked for the Mégane.
What to check before ordering
Front and rear are separate parts; fit in axle pairs and align afterwards. The Mégane caveat is the strut top: bearings and mounts on these cars commonly fail before the damper does, and the knock or heavy steering that follows is often misdiagnosed as a worn damper. Inspect the bearing whenever you check the strut and renew both together with protection kits.
Common questions for this chassis
Is Tein available for the Mégane? Not currently — this page is Bilstein, with Eibach springs joining it.
Knocking over bumps — damper or bearing? Usually the strut top bearing on this car. Check it first.
Do RS models differ? Yes, substantially. Use the RS listing.
