Which models this covers
Hatches, the Scénic MPV and the Laguna are all included, across petrol and diesel variants. Deeper pages exist for the Mégane and Scénic. Renault Sport models use their own part numbers and should not be matched from a standard listing. Parts are tied to chassis code and build year rather than model name.
Choosing between the ranges
Bilstein B4 is the largest group by a wide margin and the OE-comparable choice: standard height, original springs, the ride the car had when new. For most Renaults this is the correct answer. Bilstein B6 is firmer at the same height and suits a Mégane driven harder than average. Bilstein B12 lowers the car on shortened dampers with matched springs supplied together. Bilstein B8 is shortened and suits only a car already lowered by around 30–40 mm; it is the wrong part on a standard car. Bilstein B14 coilovers allow ride height to be set directly. Strut support bearings are an unusually large share of this catalogue, which reflects how these cars actually fail. No Tein ranges are stocked for Renault.
What to check before ordering
Front and rear are separate parts; fit in axle pairs and align afterwards. The Renault caveat is the strut top: bearings and mounts on these cars commonly fail before the damper does, and the knocking or stiff steering that results is often misdiagnosed as a worn damper. Check the bearing whenever you check the strut, and renew both together.
Common questions for this make
Is Tein available for my Renault? Not currently — the Renault catalogue here is Bilstein only.
My steering notchy and knocking — damper or bearing? Usually the strut top bearing. Inspect it before replacing the damper.
Will a standard part fit a Renault Sport model? No. Those use their own part numbers.
