Which variants this covers
Four generations are listed — 6Y, 5J, NJ and PJ — in hatchback and estate form, including the vRS models. The Fabia shares platforms with other Volkswagen Group small cars, but the chassis codes and part numbers differ, so match the code rather than assuming from a Polo or Ibiza. vRS cars run their own springs and dampers. See also the Octavia page.
Choosing between the ranges
Bilstein B12 is the largest group here, which is unusual for a car this size — it supplies shortened dampers with matched lowering springs as one package, so the two are designed to work together rather than assembled by guesswork. If you want the car lower, this is the cleanest route. Bilstein B4 is the OE-comparable replacement for a standard car, restoring the factory ride at the original height, and Bilstein B6 is the firmer option at that height, which suits a vRS. Bilstein B8 is a shortened damper only for cars already lowered by roughly 30–40 mm. Bilstein B14 coilovers let you set ride height directly. No Tein ranges are stocked for the Fabia.
What to check before ordering
Front and rear are separate listings; fit in axle pairs and align the car afterwards. Strut support bearings and protection kits are worth renewing with any damper — on a small car used mostly in town they wear faster than the damper does. The Fabia caveat is the rear: these cars use a torsion-beam rear axle whose dampers are specific to the generation, and the 6Y and 5J rear parts are not interchangeable.
Common questions for this chassis
Is Tein available for the Fabia? Not currently — this page is Bilstein only.
Will Polo parts fit? Not reliably. Related platforms, different part numbers.
Why are there more kits than dampers? B12 coverage for the Fabia is simply deeper than the individual damper ranges.
