Which models this covers
Mainstream hatches and hybrids sit alongside the rear-wheel-drive sports models, and the split matters: the daily cars are served mostly by Bilstein damping, the sports models mostly by Tein. Deeper pages exist for the Corolla, Yaris, GR86, Supra, MR2, Celica, C-HR, Prius and GR Yaris.
Choosing between the ranges
For a standard car needing its ride restored, Bilstein B4 is the OE-comparable replacement and Bilstein B6 — the largest single group here — is the firmer option at the same height. On the Tein side, EnduraPro matches OE height with firmer damping and EnduraPro Plus adds 16 adjustable levels. To lower a car on its own dampers, Tein S.Tech springs are the most stocked option. For adjustable ride height, Tein Flex Z is unusually well covered, with Street Advance Z and Street Basis Z as the other street coilovers and Mono Sport and Mono Racing for track use. 4x4 Damper Sport covers the raised models.
What to check before ordering
Front and rear are separate parts; fit in axle pairs and align afterwards. Renew strut bearings and protection kits alongside. The Toyota caveat is breadth: the same nameplate can span front- and rear-wheel-drive layouts and hybrid and combustion drivetrains across generations, and hybrids often carry different rear spring rates for battery weight. Match the chassis code, not the name.
Common questions for this make
Why mostly Tein on the sports models? Tein's coilover and spring coverage for the GR86, Supra and MR2 is simply deeper than the Bilstein equivalents.
Do hybrids take different parts? Often at the rear, yes — battery weight changes the specification.
Coilovers or springs? Springs if the dampers are good and a fixed drop suits; coilovers to set the height yourself.
