Performance

B2 is Bilstein's twin-tube hydraulic damper, an older line built for OE-equivalent replacement on the vehicles it was developed for. Damping is consistent and predictable rather than sporting, and the hydraulic (non-gas) construction suits the applications it was originally specified on. Choose it when matching an original fitment rather than upgrading. This unit is twin-tube, the construction Bilstein specifies where the original fitment used it.

Fitment

Fits VW Polo 3 (6N1), 10/1994–10/1999, FWD, VW Polo 3 Classic (6V2), 01/1995–11/2009, FWD and VW Polo 3 (6N2), 10/1999–10/2001, FWD — see the full list below. Verify fitment using the vehicle compatibility checker above. OEM References: 6N0 513 031 L.

What's Included

One Bilstein B2 damper unit for the rear axle (either side) — a single shock absorber, not a pair and not an axle set. Order two to do an axle, four for the whole car. Mounting is bottom eye. Bump stops, dust covers, top mounts and fixings are not included.

Warranty

Backed by Bilstein's manufacturer warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. Cover assumes correct installation, the correct tightening torques, and serviceable bump stops and dust covers. A damper run without its protection parts will be scored by road grit — that is wear, not a defect.
